Code Enforcement
The following information has been prepared to assist residents in preserving and enhancing the value of their homes and the aesthetic quality of the neighborhood. The purpose of the City’s property maintenance requirements are to preserve property values while assuring a clean and attractive community. Residents are encouraged to maintain attractive homes that have a positive effect on the overall appearance of the neighborhood.
COMMON MAINTENANCE ITEMS
Exterior Home Maintenance: Repair peeling paint, rotting wood & address any other structure repairs.
Garbage Collection: Garbage, recycling and landscape waste shall be placed curbside no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the day before scheduled collection or later than 10:00 p.m. on the day of collection.
Garbage and recycling containers should be stored inside the garage, behind the home or on the side of the home.
Garbage/Junk: Keep exterior areas free from garbage and junk.
Grass, Weeds and Shrubs: Maintain lawn below 6 inches in height. Trim bushes and shrubs.
Yard Waste: Lawn clippings and leaves can be placed in biodegradable bags at the curb for pick up. Do not rake leaves into the street or place them in plastic bags. Brush pickup is also provided seasonally for single-family homes only. View details.
Dead Trees: Promptly remove dead trees and shrubs from your property.
Vehicle parking: Vehicles parked on the driveway must be properly licensed and drivable. Parking on the grass is prohibited.
Recreational Vehicles & Boats: Vehicles such as boats and trailers must be parked on an approved parking surface like a driveway. Residents are only permitted to have one of the following parked on their driveway: boat on a trailer, a trailer, a camping trailer, or a recreational vehicle.
