Firearm Owners Identification Application
To lawfully possess a firearm in the State of Illinois, you must possess a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID Card). Applications are processed by the Illinois State Police for a nominal fee. Application forms are available free at the Police Department Monday through Saturday. Please note that possessing a FOID card does not give the owner authorization to carry or use a firearm unlawfully.
