2024 Street Sealing Project
UPDATE: On Friday, August 23rd, MacArthur Drive, Stillwell, and Hodges will be sealed. Project will start at approximately 8:30 a.m. and end by 4 p.m. As a reminder, only one lane will be closed off at a time. Roadway striping will be completed the week of August 26th. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
The City of Oakbrook Terrace's street sealing project will begin on Tuesday, August 20, at 7:30 a.m. and will be completed by 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 22. Similar to years past, we will be utilizing a Gilsonite Sealer Binder (GSB-88) on our roadways. GSB-88 is a sealer / roadway preservative to help maintain the integrity of our roadways. The product takes about 1 hour to dry once it's applied. There will be no road closures. 2-way traffic will be maintained. We will be sealing half of the roadway at a time. Traffic control will be in place for smooth travel. Residents who need to come and go from their driveways during the application process may be slightly inconvenienced for an hour until the product dries. Please plan accordingly - if you know you have to come and go on the day your street will be sealed, do not park on a roadway that is or will be treated that day.
The following street sealing schedule will be followed:
- Tuesday, August 20: Streets will include Nimitz, Monterey, Halsey, Elder, North Elder, Elm Ct, Orchard, Elm Place.
- Wednesday, August 21: Streets will include Patton, Wainwright, Leahy, Karban, Eisenhower, Marshall
- Thursday, August 22: Streets will include Stillwell, MacArthur, 16th Street, Hodges
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Once the streets are completed, all associated roadway striping will be replaced.
*** Rain could delay the project. If there is rain, the project will be suspended until the next dry day. If this happens, an updated schedule will be posted. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to email cward@oakbrookterrace.net or call at 630-941-1651 Ext 1.
