News Release March 5, 2024 - Fatal Traffic Crash

Incident: Fatal Traffic Crash

On March 5, 2024, at approximately 11:24 A.M., members of the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department were assigned to 22nd Street near MacArthur Drive in Oakbrook Terrace for a traffic crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. Members of the Oakbrook Terrace Fire Protection District also responded to the scene in an attempt to provide aid to the pedestrian however, the pedestrian was unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene. No injuries were reported by anyone else involved in the crash.

We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family of the victim in this case. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic event.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently being investigated by members of the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department, the DuPage County Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigations Team’s Major Crash Reconstruction Team, and DuPage County Coroner’s Office. Details about the sequence of events leading up to the crash are not available at this time. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed as of the date of this release.
